In the event of a typhoon
What should I do?
If the plane is canceled due to a typhoon…
Typhoons may hit all over Okinawa, mainly in July or September, and airplanes may be canceled. In such a case, let's check your ticket first!
■First, please check the air ticket.■
For personal tickets
●Please receive a "vacant numbered ticket" at the airline counter you plan to board.
●As soon as the flight is available, we will call you the number of the "vacant seat numbered ticket" so please check the boarding procedure.
●The numbered waiting tickets issued for canceled flights due to the typhoon are issued with a continuous number and are valid until the effects of the typhoon disappear.
● Tickets are valid until the boarding date (the first day with vacant seats) if the airline and route are the same.
●"Personal ticket" is a personal airline ticket, and "group ticket" is a voucher (coupon) for group travel or travel sponsored by a travel agency.
●For customers who do not wait for a reservation, we will issue a waiting numbered ticket.
●Airlines may operate temporary flights to terminate the confusion caused by the typhoon as soon as possible. Please be careful about the announcement at the airport.
● Depending on the fare type, some tickets can only be used by the airline. Please be careful.
For group tickets
●If the tour conductor accompanies the tour, the tour conductor will arrange everything.
※Please follow the instructions of the tour conductor.
● If you do not have a tour conductor during your trip, please get instructions at the counter of the host travel agency in the airport. Before waiting for a seat, please pick up your ticket or boarding pass voucher at the host travel agency counter.
● The travel agency that hosts the tour has an information counter in the airport. Please consult with the travel agency that organizes your tour.
■If you would like a hotel, please■
For personal travel
●If a typhoon is predicted, ask for advice on the movement of the typhoon and flight cancellation information at your accommodation. We will advise you on arranging airline tickets and securing hotels in case of cancellation.
●If you have already checked out the hotel, please contact the hotel where you stayed before. If you do not have a vacancy, please contact the Naha Airport Tourist Information Center (TEL.098-857-6884) or the Naha City Hotel Association (TEL.098-861-4166). However, if it is not possible to respond sufficiently due to congestion, please make a reservation by looking at the hotel information brochure.
● If you are unable to decide where to stay, please contact the Naha Airport Tourist Information Center or the staff of the nearby Okinawa Tourism Convention Bureau (OCVB).
●When a typhoon is predicted, each hotel offers tropical cyclone information.
●In the event of a typhoon, every counter is very crowded. Please act calmly when making inquiries or other matters.
●Please be sure to stay at the hotel where reservations are OK. If you can't stay, please let me know.
For group trips
● Please contact the tour conductor or the host travel agency as soon as possible. We will secure a hotel as much as possible.
● Please contact each travel agency counter in the airport or each travel agency branch in the city.
