We introduced "Ryukyu Kingdom Castle Town", "Ryuso", "indigo dyeing" and "Plaster Shisa Painting Experience". It seems that Okinawa's unique culture is very interesting overseas.
The staff asked a lot of questions, such as the red tiles old folk house, the masonry of a wall unique to Okinawa, and the motifs of the Bingata Dyeing depicted on Ryuso.
I was particularly interested in "indigo dyeing".
indigo dyeing is said to be the oldest plant dyeing in the world, and it is very familiar to Japanese people, but in fact, even if you say "indigo dyeing Me" in a word, it is dyed with various ingredients.
"Tade Ai" is used in mainland Japan, and "Ryukyu Ai" is used in Okinawa Island.
Plants called "Indigo" in the south and "Taisei" in the north are used as raw materials.
By the way, "Tade Ai" is used in Miyako Island and "India Ai" is used in Yaeyama area, so indigo dyeing is a popular area in Okinawa.
