About 800 species of reef corals have been identified from the tropical seas of the world, and about 380 of the approximately 400 corals in Japan live in the reefs of the Ryukyu Islands. Now, in the sea of Okinawa, the death of corals, which are thought to be caused by starfish and global warming, is occurring. If this is the case, the wonderful sea of Okinawa may disappear.
