In Okinawa World's Papermaking Studio, the signboard dog "Sora-chan" has recently made a model debut!
Sun Printing is engaged in design, planning, events and printing in Okinawa Prefecture.
A calendar is created every year, but next year's theme is "Okinawa's Ikimono".
As a native dog of Okinawa, the Ryukyu dog Sora-chan also appeared on the calendar.
Do you know Ryukyu dogs?
It is a valuable dog that is also designated as a natural monument of Okinawa Prefecture.
In the Jomon period, dogs had already lived with people, but in Yayoi period, northern dogs flowed in with foreigners, and Japanese dogs were mixed with blood.
In Hokkaido and the Nansei Islands, which are not connected to the ground, Jomon period's lineage is maintained, and it is believed that Ryukyu dogs may maintain their lineage.
The characteristics of the old type dog, such as the standing ear and the narrow steps between the nose and forehead, are inherited, and the hair color is "Acatuler (red tiger)" "Kurutuler (black tiger)" "Akain (red dog)" "Siltuler (white tiger)".
Ryukyu dog, Sora-chan of Akatler.
It is often thought to be a male due to its dignified appearance, but in fact this year a 5-year-old girl.
The photos taken for the calendar seem to be girls-like with their eyes etc. ...♪
Thank you very much for your wonderful photos, professional photographers!
When you come to Okinawa World, please come and see Sora-chan!
