--the mystery of Okinawa least horseshoe bat flying around solutional cave~
Okinawa least horseshoe bat Observation Meeting in Gyokusendo Cave
2023
Okinawa World's solutional cave "Gyokusendo Cave" is home to about 200 small Okinawa least horseshoe bats of ping-pong balls. In the daytime, Okinawa least horseshoe bat sleeps in the back of solutional cave and doesn't show much, but at night he wakes up and works for food.
In this observation session, we will look for and observe the "Okinawa least horseshoe bat" (endangered IB) living in solutional cave.
Is Okinawa least horseshoe bat a bird? Mammals? Where do you sleep and when are you going to look for food? What do you eat and what kind of voice do you hear?
You can also experience listening to the conversations of Okinawa least horseshoe bat using a special device "Bat detector".
It is an easy-to-understand explanation for children, but adults are also welcome. There is not much opportunity for adults to look for Okinawa least horseshoe bat in the limestone cave at night. Please enjoy Gyokusendo Cave at night when the Okinawa least horseshoe bat and the cool sound of water echoes.
Take this opportunity to remember your summer night.
