In 2017, it was officially recognized as "Habu Snake Day on August 2" by the Japan Anniversary Association. It is listed as one of the anniversarys in the Okinawa limited schedule book.
About "Habu Snake memorial service"
Although Habu Snake is feared as a dangerous poisonous snake, it is important to maintain the balance of Okinawa's ecosystem. It is expected that traditional textiles with the motif of the pattern of Habu Snake will be used as a tourism resource, as well as medicinal and other possibilities.
