old calendar 1/16 is the New Year of the World, and the whole family chats with the offering at the grave and relaxes the spirits of their ancestors. It is popular in the Miyako and Yaeyama regions.

Okinawa's unique offering includes Usanmi, a heavy box packed with nine kinds of side dishes such as kamaboko, tofu, and pork, and charcoal kelp, which is made from charcoal wrapped in kelp. "Mishami" appears not only in the New Year, but also in various events such as the Kiyomei Festival and Bon Festival. It is unique to Okinawa to offer a lot of fruits such as pineapples.
We offer kagami mochi and fresh flowers to tokonoma.
Sanshin also has a culture of decorating tokonoma, and it is said that Japan decorating swords, China decorating brushes, and Okinawa decorating Sanshin.
