It's Lunar New Year!

Today, February 10th is January 1, old calendar, the Chinese New Year day. old calendar events are still flourishing in Okinawa, and there are three New Year holidays! It's also said that it's true.

The three New Years are New Year's Day (1/1 of New Year's Day), Lunar New Year (1/1 of old calendar), and New Year's Day (1/16 of old calendar).
In Itoman City, where fishing is thriving, we celebrate the Chinese New Year with the Tairyo Bata.
There are places where New Year's balls and New Year's gifts are tailored to Lunar New Year instead of New Year's Day.
The New Year of the world is particularly popular in the Miyako and Yaeyama regions, and all relatives gather at their ancestors' graves with heavy boxes.

In the former Uezato family, you can see the Chinese New Year's altar decorations and offering unique to Okinawa.
You can go up and relax freely, so you can see it nearby.

It is "Charcoal kelp", which is made by winding charcoal in kelp, and "Ucary", a red-yellow and white tricolor paper that has the meaning of health, money and good luck.
For ancestors' events such as the New Year's Day and the Kiyomei Festival, a heavy box dish called "Usanmi" is indispensable. 9 side dishes including tempura, kamaboko, and kelp are contained.

The park will also welcome you with gorgeous New Year decorations during the Lunar New Year period.
Please come and enjoy the Chinese New Year's mood.
